LIGHT
Bright, indirect light is perfect for the plant, but it will live happily under a fluorescent light as well. This makes it an ideal office plant.
Can also tolerate and adapt to low light.
WATER
Water the plant well, especially during dry months. Watering once or twice a week should be enough to keep it moist. If you see yellow leaves, it means you’re overwatering. Avoid overwatering; it can lead to root rot.
HUMIDITY
It’s not too fussy and will tolerate dryness. However, a little extra humidity through light misting will give larger leaves. If you see brown leaf tips, it’s a sign of lack of humidity.
TEMPERATURE
Average room temperatures between 65 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit are perfect for heartleaf philodendron.
TOXICITY
Beware! Ingestion can cause severe discomfort and allergic reactions to both animals and humans, so keep it someplace where the children and pets can’t reach.
EXTRA LOVE
Prune your plant regularly for bushier growth. Also, keep an eye out for pests such as aphids and spider mites. Treat them right away before they eat up your plant, or move to other indoor plants.
