A TIERRA favorite — The Rubber Plant is a one-of-a-kind indoor plant. Not only does it look great, but it’s sturdy and really easy to care for. What more could you want from a plant?

If you are just starting out with indoor plants, this is a great beginner’s plant and one to boost your confidence.

LIGHT

Best placed in medium to bright indirect light but can get used to direct light gradually.

Bright light will bring out the dark color of the leaves.

WATER

Water your rubber plant once a week, but BEST to let the top 2 inches dry out before watering. If the leaves start to droop, the plant is telling you it’s thirsty.

HUMIDITY

It likes living in humidity, but won’t mind low humidity conditions either. Mist it regularly, and you’ll see a lusher growth.

TEMPERATURE

Will do well in normal room temperature.

Can tolerate a wide range of temperature, just observe how it will react.

TOXICITY

The plant’s sap can cause irritation to the skin; wash your hands every time you handle the plant. Ingestion can be problematic, too; it can result in allergic reactions. Place it somewhere out of reach if you’ve got children and pets in the house.

EXTRA LOVE

Wipe the leaves with a damp cloth. It doesn’t like sitting next to air-conditioning, or heating vents so keep it somewhere it doesn’t get direct cold or hot air blowing on its leaves.
